skint_86 I am a big fan of bands incorporating aspects of their heritage or culture into their music and Dhishti do this as well as any. The songwriting is engaging and well produced. I had not thought to look for a DSBM band from this region but what a great surprise and any fan of the style would be doing themselves a disservice by overlooking this.

about

The album speaks about beliefs, rituals and prophecies that are still to this date followed by certain groups of people…. The album’s lyrics are written in an older form of the native language, which originated over 2000 years ago. The language was explicitly selected because these rituals were originally carried out in the language of Sinhala, and translating it into any other language would take away its originality and authenticity.”
